Cassidy announces FEMA funding for hurricane relief in Louisiana

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy announced that Louisiana will receive over $37 million in federal aid for relief efforts related to Hurricanes Laura and Ida. The funds, totaling $37,425,524.60, are provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative, Inc. is set to receive $33,941,078.17 for emergency protective measures due to Hurricane Laura's impact. Additionally, the Ochsner Clinic Foundation will be allocated $3,484,446.43 for permanent repairs necessitated by Hurricane Ida.

"Louisiana remains strong long after Hurricanes Laura and Ida," stated Dr. Cassidy. "This funding will aid our communities in recovery and prepare them for the next storm."
