U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy's legislative accomplishments in 2024 have been highlighted by the American Press, with notable achievements including the Social Security Fairness Act and the Stop Campus Hazing Act being signed into law. Additionally, Cassidy secured $2.8 billion from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and was recognized by the National Shooting Sporting Foundation’s “Dean’s List” for his efforts to protect Second Amendment rights.

The American Press reported that "The Social Security Fairness Act, of which Cassidy is a longtime co-sponsor, repealed the Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset to ensure public sector workers and their families receive their full Social Security benefits." Cassidy commented on his ongoing commitment to Social Security reform: "I will continue the work to find a comprehensive solution to save Social Security."

Cassidy also played a key role in passing what is described as the first National Hazing Bill. According to The American Press, this legislation will provide an annual report for parents detailing college organizations accused of hazing violations.

His support for Second Amendment rights earned him a spot on the "Dean’s List," with The American Press noting his influence in challenging Title IX policies he perceived as detrimental to women in education and sports. Furthermore, he backed the Laken Riley Act, which authorizes local law enforcement and ICE to detain immigrants unlawfully present in the country who are suspected of theft.

During a news conference regarding infrastructure funding, Cassidy emphasized Louisiana's benefit from federal funds: “Louisiana needs to reap the benefits of the bill, not Texas, Arkansas or Mississippi.” He pointed out how Morgan City received $17 million for infrastructure improvements.

Cassidy highlighted resources available through local associations and online portals for communities seeking matching grant funds.
