U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy have expressed their support for President Trump's policies that promote the growth of Louisiana's liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector. They emphasized the state's significant contribution to America's status as a leading LNG exporter and how the administration's actions are strengthening U.S. energy dominance.

"Louisiana is the backbone of America’s LNG export industry, accounting for more than 60 percent of all U.S. LNG exports last year," stated the senators in a letter to President Trump. "Under your leadership, the U.S. is positioned to achieve record-breaking LNG exports, reinforcing energy dominance and providing allies with reliable, affordable, and cleaner-burning natural gas."

The senators also highlighted their willingness to collaborate on policies that will enable further growth in the LNG sector. "We look forward to working with you on policies to allow the LNG sector to thrive," they concluded.

In their letter, Cassidy and Kennedy acknowledged Louisiana's strategic importance due to its advanced liquefaction and export terminals' proximity to major natural gas basins like Permian, Eagle Ford, and Haynesville. The state's infrastructure facilitates direct access to international markets via the Gulf of Mexico.

They mentioned existing facilities such as Cheniere’s Sabine Pass facility, Cameron LNG, Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass, and Plaquemines facilities located in Louisiana. The senators also pointed out future projects like Argent LNG at Port Fourchon which are expected to increase U.S. exports while creating thousands of jobs.

Cassidy and Kennedy reiterated their commitment to supporting consistent policies from both Congress and the administration that would enhance U.S. competitiveness in global energy markets.
