Dr. Heath Peloquin will be the speaker for Louisiana Christian University’s Spring Revival, which runs Tuesday through Thursday at 11 a.m., in Guinn Auditorium.
Peloquin serves as senior pastor of Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport.
LCU’s ensembles Voices and Elevate will lead worship during the revival.
“We had Dr. Peloquin on campus last semester to speak in chapel, and the students responded to him very well,” said Nicholas Maricle, dean of Chapel. “I’m looking forward to having him on campus again and am praying for the students to be open to God’s message for them.”
Peloquin previously served as the director of missions for the North Texas Baptist Association, where he assisted 90 churches including 12 church plants in six languages. Prior to the NTBA, he was director of Church/Minister Relations for the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention where he provided encouragement, mentoring and strategic planning for 2,600 ministers serving in churches of all sizes.
He has also served on the Executive Board of Trustees of the North American Mission Board as chairman of the West Region. Prior to accepting the SBTC responsibilities, Peloquin served as senior pastor in Corpus Christi for more than six years and at First Baptist Belton as associate pastor for four years.
Peloquin holds a Doctorate of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts in Christian Studies and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. He and his wife, Jennifer, have been married 25 years and are blessed with four children.
“We are prayerful that the Holy Spirit uses Dr. Peloquin in a mighty way to sweep through every part of the LCU campus and ignite a fire for Jesus like we’ve never experienced before,” said LCU President Dr. Rick Brewer.
