There were 474 ninth grade students enrolled in Vernon Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 12.7% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Leesville High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within Vernon Parish schools, the most students were found in first grade classes, while 12th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, Vernon Parish ranked 22nd highest in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 23rd highest the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
