U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) has announced that Louisiana will receive $59,109,835.50 in relief funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the recovery efforts following Hurricanes Ida, Laura, and Delta.
"Years later, we still feel and remember these hurricanes, but Louisiana has been resilient throughout it all," said Dr. Cassidy. "This funding will help with the continued recovery and return our communities back to wholeness."
The grants awarded include:
- $1,044,829.61 for the Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District to provide federal funding for emergency protective measures required as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $2,599,655.79 for the McNeese University Office of Risk Management to provide federal funding for permanent work for building repairs as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $2,360,537.10 for the McNeese University Office of Risk Management to provide federal funding for damages to the LERC Building as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $4,362,027.89 for the McNeese University Office of Risk Management to provide federal funding for damages to the Farm buildings as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $2,801,975.04 for the McNeese University Office of Risk Management to provide federal funding for damages to the Rockefeller office buildings as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $2,264,528.62 for the Calcasieu Parish School Board to provide federal funding for damages to Vinton Elementary School as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $2,247,619.50 for the McNeese University Office of Risk Management to provide federal funding for damages to the Equine Center as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $7,887,056.40 for the Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative Inc. to provide federal funding for the permanent restoration of damaged 69kV transmission lines as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $3,675,311.55 for the Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative Inc. to provide federal funding for the permanent restoration of the damaged Hackett Substation power transmission and distribution facility as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $1,918,229.67 for the Calcasieu Parish School Board to provide federal funding for damaged facilities at Oak Park Elementary School as a result of Hurricane Laura.
- $1,221,598.87 for the Louisiana Office of Emergency Preparedness to provide federal funding for emergency protective measures as a result of Hurricane Delta.
- $2,332,537.15 for the Office of Risk Management to provide federal funding for emergency protective measures performed at McNeese State University and SOWELA Community College as a result of Hurricane Delta.
- $4,413,212.47 for St. Charles Parish to provide federal funding for right of way debris removal and monitoring operations as a result of Hurricane Ida.
- $5,632,986.62 for the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development to provide federal funding for management costs as a result of Hurricane Ida.
- $3,981,883.91 for the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux to provide federal funding for emergency protective measures as a result of Hurricane Ida.
- $1,193,613.36 for Terrebonne Parish to provide federal funding for emergency protective measures as a result of Hurricane Ida.
- $3,484,229.21 for the Washington - St. Tammany Electric Cooperative to provide federal funding for emergency protective measures as a result of Hurricane Ida.
- $1,120,035.60 for Terrebonne Parish to provide federal funding as a result of Hurricane Ida.
- $3,042,127.24 for the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux to provide federal funding for mold remediation as a result of Hurricane Ida.
- $1,525,839.90 for the Ochsner Clinic Foundation to provide federal funding for building repairs and replacement as a result of Hurricane Ida.
