Cassidy Announces $4.5 Million in Severe Weather Relief

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) has announced that Louisiana will receive $4,460,682.29 in severe weather relief from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The funds will be allocated to address the damages caused by Hurricane Laura and severe winter storms.

The city of Alexandria will receive $3,014,539.17 to repair the citywide electrical system damage caused by Hurricane Laura. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will also receive $1,446,143.12 for emergency protective measures resulting from the severe winter storms.

In response to the news, Dr. Cassidy stated, "Louisiana is stronger than any hurricane or winter storm. This funding will help with continued repairs from past weather events and ensure we are prepared for future ones."
