WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), Jim Risch, (R-ID), Ben Cardin (D-MD), and 97 colleagues introduced a bipartisan resolution in support of Israel following the brutal attacks by the terrorist organization Hamas.

In a statement, Senator Cassidy expressed his unwavering support for Israel, stating, "Israel stood with America during our war on terror, America must stand with Israel during its war on terror."

Senator Risch also expressed his support, saying, "The United States will continue to unequivocally support the people of Israel as they defend themselves from the senseless acts of terrorism over the last week and a half."

Senator Cardin highlighted the bipartisan nature of the resolution, stating, "The fact that nearly every Senator has signed on to this urgent legislation is a testament to the strength of the U.S.-Israel alliance."

The resolution received support from a wide range of senators from both parties, including Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and many others.

This resolution comes in the wake of recent attacks by Hamas, which have targeted innocent civilians in Israel. The resolution reaffirms Congress' unwavering support for Israel and signals the intention to provide additional assistance as quickly as possible.

The United States has been a longstanding ally of Israel, and this resolution demonstrates the commitment to standing shoulder to shoulder with Israel in its hour of need.

The full resolution can be read here.
