U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, Joni Ernst, Cory Booker, and 46 colleagues have sent a letter to President Joe Biden urging him to prioritize the rescue of American hostages who were taken by Hamas during the terrorist organization's attacks on Israel. The senators expressed their concern over the lives of the hostages, as well as the threat posed by Hamas.

In the letter, the senators highlighted the brutal nature of Hamas' attacks, which have resulted in the death of 30 Americans and the injury of many more. They emphasized that the terrorists responsible for these atrocities hide behind human shields and threaten to livestream the execution of hostages. The senators called on President Biden to continue giving his full attention to the freeing of American hostages and to treat every day with a sense of urgency.

The senators also urged the United States to support Israel's efforts to dismantle the threat of Hamas. They emphasized the need to provide the necessary resources for Israel's defense and to offer whatever support is necessary to immediately and safely rescue the kidnapped Americans, particularly those who require urgent medical care.

Furthermore, the senators called on President Biden to encourage allies and partners in the region to exert pressure on Hamas. They specifically requested that the International Committee of the Red Cross be granted access to the hostages, allowing them to provide much-needed medical assistance while the United States and Israel work towards securing their release.

The letter was signed by Senators Cassidy, Ernst, Booker, and a bipartisan group of 46 colleagues, as well as Representatives Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Darrell Issa.

The senators expressed their gratitude for President Biden's attention to this matter and emphasized the importance of securing the safe release of the American hostages. They called on the President to do everything in his power to ensure their safety and to continue supporting Israel's efforts to combat the threat posed by Hamas.
