WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced he secured $1,268,523,000.00 for Louisiana in the annual appropriations bills for fiscal year 2024—the most of any member in the Louisiana Congressional Delegation. Cassidy voted against a partial government shutdown. Throughout all 12 appropriations bills, there is $28 million for the Morganza to the Gulf Project, more than $12 million for water infrastructure, $5.5 million for mental health and substance abuse services, and $6 million for the Team Gleason Foundation for ALS health services.

"No matter where you live in Louisiana, these investments will make a difference in our communities," said Dr. Cassidy. "This funding boosts our economy and strengthens our communities by improving roads and bridges, upgrading our electric grid, supporting our military, and more."

The funding secured by Senator Cassidy covers various areas including Homeland Security, Financial Services and General Government, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, Justice & Science, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Interior and Environment, Energy and Water, Labor, Health and Human Services, and Defense.

The appropriations aim to enhance infrastructure, address community needs, and provide support for essential services across Louisiana. Dr. Cassidy's efforts in securing this substantial funding highlight a commitment to the state's development and well-being.

This significant financial allocation is expected to have a positive impact on Louisiana's economy and overall quality of life, demonstrating a proactive approach to addressing key issues and fostering growth within the state.
