U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will grant Louisiana a total of $2,790,550 in Brownfield Grants from his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). The IIJA has provided an additional $1.5 billion for Brownfield Cleanup Grants.

This funding aims to clean up and reinvest in properties complicated by the presence of hazardous substances or contaminants, as prioritized by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality.

"Revitalizing contaminated sites enhances the quality of life and work in Louisiana," stated Dr. Cassidy. "This is another way the infrastructure law continues to support initiatives for our communities to thrive."
