Cassidy announces $883K funding for Louisiana shipyards

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that Louisiana will receive $882,703 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to enhance the technology and equipment of local shipyards. C&C Marine and Repair, LLC will receive $514,263 for a plasma cutting table, while Cooper Consolidated, LLC will receive $368,440 for a track loader, 9,000 lb. capacity telehandler, backhoe tractor, and four welding machines.

"Louisiana shipyards play a crucial role in supporting maritime commerce, energy production, and national defense," said Dr. Cassidy. "This funding for our local shipyards will boost our state’s economy and future."
