The Alexandria Fire Department responded promptly to a fire at Bolton Academy, also known as Bolton High School. The incident occurred on November 21, 2024, when the department was called to 2101 Vance Avenue at approximately 9:06 AM due to a fire in a classroom.

Firefighters arrived at the scene within two minutes and found an electronic device ablaze. They quickly extinguished the fire and removed the device from the school premises. During this time, school officials evacuated students from the building. Fortunately, there were no injuries or damage reported to the school structure.

The Alexandria Fire Department deployed three engine companies, an aerial company, a medical unit, a chief unit, and a fire investigator to manage the situation. The cause of the fire was identified as an electrical failure within the electronic device and has been classified as accidental.
