U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that Louisiana will receive $5,253,233.53 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for relief efforts related to Hurricanes Ida and Laura.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is set to receive $4,010,250.73 in federal funding for emergency protective measures following Hurricane Ida. Additionally, the Office of Risk Management will be allocated $1,242,982.80 for the permanent restoration of McNeese Cowboy Stadium due to damage caused by Hurricane Laura.

“Hurricanes Laura and Ida left a physical mark on our communities, but they did not shake our resilience,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding is crucial for South Louisiana’s recovery and readiness for future storms.”
