U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), announced that Louisiana will receive $16,629,396 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to enhance bus transportation services in the state. SporTran Transit is allocated $11,169,846 to replace diesel-powered buses within its fleet. Jefferson Parish Transit is set to receive $5,459,550 for the replacement of aging diesel vehicles.

"Improving the reliability and efficiency of our public transportation betters the lives of working Louisianans," said Dr. Cassidy. "This investment is another way the Infrastructure Law allows us to build an economy for 2050."
