Cassidy announces $3 million in FEMA funds for Louisiana school hurricane relief

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), announced that Louisiana schools will receive $3,039,453.84 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for Hurricane Ida relief efforts. The Jefferson Parish Public School System is set to receive $1,073,424.78 for permanent work on Joshua Butler Elementary. Additionally, the Office of Risk Management will obtain $1,966,029.06 for campus-wide remediation at Delgado Community College.

"From elementary to higher education, schools are a crucial part of our community," said Dr. Cassidy. "This funding will help our local schools recover from Hurricane Ida and uplift our communities."
