The boil advisory for the Elliott Street area in Alexandria, Louisiana, issued on Thursday, September 26, 2024, has been lifted. The advisory was put in place following repairs to a six-inch water main by COA personnel. Superintendent of Water Operations Barrett Dezendorf confirmed that the State of Louisiana tested the water and found it clean.

The Alexandria Water Department announced that businesses and residents along Elliott Street are no longer under the boil advisory. A detailed map of the affected area is available upon request.

With the advisory lifted, the City of Alexandria recommends several steps for residents and businesses to ensure their water systems are safe:

- Run cold-water faucets for one minute.

- Run drinking water fountains for one minute.

- Flush automatic icemakers by making three batches of ice and discarding them.

- Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle.

- Run water coolers with direct water connections for five minutes.
