Fire in Alexandria deemed arson by local fire department

The Alexandria Fire Department was called to a structure fire in the 2200 block of North MacArthur Drive. The incident occurred on December 22, 2024, with the department receiving the call at approximately 6:21 PM.

Upon receiving the alarm, the first unit arrived at 2211 North MacArthur Drive within three minutes. The response included three engine companies, a ladder company, a medical unit, one district chief’s unit, and a fire investigator.

According to the Alexandria Fire Department, "The cause of the fire was determined to be arson."
