U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana has declared his intention to support the confirmation of South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as the next U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security. In a statement, Cassidy emphasized Noem's commitment to border security and preventing terror attacks.

"Governor Noem has her priorities straight. Americans want to see the border secured and know their government is protecting them from another terror attack like the New Orleans attack. She has made that her focus," said Dr. Cassidy.

Cassidy expressed confidence in the administration's ability to secure the southern border under Noem's leadership, stating, "I am confident that this administration will secure the southern border. I will vote for Governor Noem’s confirmation."

Noem is poised to become the 8th individual to hold this position if confirmed by the Senate.
