U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy announced that Louisiana will receive over $2.6 million in federal aid for relief efforts related to Hurricanes Ida and Francine. The funds, allocated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), aim to support recovery and rebuilding initiatives in affected areas.

The Greater Lafourche Port Commission is set to receive $1,118,949.84 for repairs on the Galliano Main Administrative Office Building, which sustained damage during Hurricane Ida. Additionally, the Louisiana National Guard will be granted $1,500,842.18 for emergency protective measures taken in response to Hurricane Francine.

“As we continue to rebuild from past storms, we must also prepare for the next storm,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Louisiana is resilient, and this funding will only strengthen our communities.”
