U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy has expressed approval for Hyundai Steel's decision to invest $5.8 billion in a new steel production facility in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. This development is expected to create approximately 1,300 direct jobs and several thousand indirect jobs in the region.

"Made in America is good, but made in Louisiana is even better! My team has advocated to Hyundai that Louisiana is the best state to invest in. I’m glad they agree!" stated Dr. Cassidy. He also extended his gratitude to President Trump and Governor Landry for their support of American manufacturing and job creation in Louisiana.

The facility aims to enhance the U.S. automotive steel supply chain by producing 2.7 million tons of advanced automotive steel annually, generating an estimated $4.1 billion in revenue each year. The steel produced will serve Hyundai, Kia, and other automakers operating within the United States.

Construction of this project is slated to commence in 2026.
