Registration for the inaugural Dr. Maggie Martin Marketplace Leadership Summit is in full swing.
The April 13 event begins at 11:30 a.m. in Granberry Conference Center at LCU.
Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce President Deborah Randolph said this summit will be significant to the local business community.
“The Dr. Maggie Martin Marketplace Leadership Summit will be a meaningful annual program for business leaders in Central Louisiana,” Randolph said. “We applaud the establishment of this summit to provide an opportunity to hear from inspiring, nationally known entrepreneurs.”
Annie Beiler, founder of Auntie Anne’s founder of international pretzel franchise, will be the keynote speaker. Beiler will share her story of faith—being raised in a traditional Mennonite community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania—and despair following the death of her daughter. Out of this pain was born a purpose, and she now travels and speaks to audiences around the country on leadership, purpose and the power of confession.
“The 2023 summit will be particularly valuable for women who aspire to forge meaningful careers,” Randolph said. “Before rising to success, Anne Beiler faced many personal challenges. Her story is one of perseverance and a passion to help others.”
Martin’s daughter, Natalie, and husband Darryl Monroe announced the launch of the Dr. Maggie Martin Marketplace Leadership Summit, an annual event for business and industry leaders in Central Louisiana who live out faith in their work.
“My sister [Amanda Vincent] and I were blessed with two God-fearing parents who put faith and family first,” Natalie said. “We never even realized my mom worked because she worked when we were in school. She always put faith and family first.”
LCU Vice President for Student Life Meredith Rennier said the summit will be especially influential on young businesswomen.
“Through the Dr. Maggie Martin Marketplace Leadership Summit, we hope that young leaders within our community have the opportunity to learn from entrepreneurs around the country and become motivated to succeed in the workforce,” Rennier said.
LCU President Dr. Rick Brewer described how the summit will impact LCU and Central Louisiana as a whole.
“The Dr. Maggie Martin Leadership Summit will be a highlight of the year for Louisiana Christian University,” Brewer said. “We are grateful for the support of Natalie and Darryl Monroe to launch this initiative honoring Dr. Martin and providing essential leadership development for Central Louisiana. We are confident thousands will be impacted by the Dr. Maggie Martin Leadership Summit in the years ahead.”
Legacy sponsors for the events are Natalie and Darryl Monroe.
