U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, representing Louisiana, voted against resolutions led by Democrats that aimed to block arms sales from the United States to Israel. Cassidy expressed concerns that such measures would undermine Israel's defense capabilities.

"Israel’s enemies desire to wipe them from the face of the earth," stated Dr. Cassidy. "Limiting Israel’s ability to defend itself helps its enemies. It certainly doesn’t help Israel. The United States should stand with Israel."

Cassidy, along with 47 other Senate Republicans, voiced opposition to what they describe as a partial arms embargo against Israel by the Biden-Harris administration. The group urged the administration to stop accommodating Iran and deliver necessary weapons systems to Israel, citing risks posed to American servicemembers.

Additionally, Cassidy introduced a resolution condemning any actions by the Biden administration that might restrict ammunition or weapons for Israel. Last week, he also introduced the Stand with Israel Act aimed at cutting U.S. funding to UN agencies that impose restrictions on Israeli participation.

Cassidy marked the anniversary of terrorist attacks on October 7, which resulted in over a thousand casualties among Israelis and Americans, by releasing a video statement. He joined Senator Joni Ernst and fellow Republicans in introducing a resolution condemning Hamas and supporting Israel's continued existence while calling for the release of American hostages.
