U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy announced that Louisiana is set to receive $4,857,349.75 for emergency preparedness initiatives. The funding will support the purchase and installation of generators in Calcasieu and Lincoln Parish.

McNeese State University in Calcasieu Parish will benefit from $3,253,126.50 for acquiring and installing two permanent generators. An additional $180,729.25 has been allocated for management costs related to these generators.

In Lincoln Parish, a total of $1,423,494.00 has been earmarked for the purchase and installation of 17 generators.

"Ensuring Louisiana is prepared for future hurricanes starts with investments like these generators," said Dr. Cassidy. "This funding will help our students and families stay safe when the next storm hits."
